Summary: The ‘research impact’ is generating a great deal of debate and critique in some parts of the social sciences.  This research café aims to add to this debate by providing space to discuss the various ways in which the ‘impact agenda’ is shaping the work we do (and feel able to do). Kat Smith and Sarah Morton will kick off the discussion by sharing findings from their research in the field, as well as personal experiences of the impact agenda. The floor will then be given to all participants in order to share our various experiences and to debate whether we ought to be using our social science expertise to do more to inform decisions about the ways in which impact is being measured, incentivised and rewarded.
