Postdoctoral and Early Career Research

SKAPE provides a supportive and stimulating environment for Postdoctoral and Early Career Researchers to develop their academic careers. We work closely with colleagues at this crucial stage of their professional develoment to provide support, guidance, and a wide range of practical help. This includes opportunties to present research papers and grant projects at our regular seminars, help to organise workshops, advice on publication strategies, and high-level academic and policy networking opportunities. We have a representative of our Postdoctoral/Early Career community on our Steering Group to help us understand and respond to the needs and aspirations of this important part of our community.

If you are interested in pursuing post-doctoral research at SKAPE, please do get in touch with us. We can help you get started in exploring different funding options, and developing proposals.

There are a number of European and UK sources of funding for post-doctoral fellowships. You can find a summary of the main post-doc funding routes on the SPS site.

If you would like further information on our Postdoctoral and Early Career community, please do contact our Early Career Representative Dr. Ellen Stewart (e.stewart@ed.ac.uk).
